Do you remember who you supported when you were a đồ đá banh? Did you follow your team religiously or were you a bit flighty and followed whoever happened to be the team of the hour.
In my younger days I remember most everyone at school had favourite football team. There was Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs, West Ham and I even think we had a Chelsea supporter. Those days everyone collected football stickers, it was like an unwritten law and your sole purpose was to complete your Panini sticker album. Almost no one ever did this as there was always one or two very hard to get stickers.
It wasn’t long before everyone had their own football shirts that they wore after school when playing football so that you could pretend being your favourite player. Of course my team was Spurs, I was too young to bathe in the glory of the 1961 double however the late seventies and early eighties really were Tottenham’s glory days.
As you get older it is nice to relive those glory days and what better reminder than a vintage football shirt from that era. You can now buy genuine authorised replica shirts from most British and European clubs from all the popular periods for those particular teams.
Want to remind yourself and others of who the double winners were in 1961? Why not get a retro Tottenham Hotspur football shirt of that time rather than wearing their latest strip. The first double of the century is not something that happens that often so it is something to celebrate.
What about the goalkeeper who is considered by many to be the greatest ever English Keeper. You can get a Gordon Banks England goalkeeper shirt, the yellow one worn by Banks in the 1966 world cup. Sure its yellow, long sleeved and retro and maybe you would prefer something in blue like Gordon Banks 1970 goalkeepers football shirt that he famously wore when he saved the goal against Pele.
Whoever your team is and whichever period you want to remember there is a classic vintage football shirt. Of course you could also get your hands on a genuine vintage football shirt, one that was actually made in the fifties, sixties or seventies. Most people however will want to remember their golden childhood football past with a shirt that reminds them of when football was really magical to them.
