Eco Friendly Ways to Keep Weeds at Bay

We love our landscape that is why we want to make it look clean and presentable at all times. We find weeds growing from our garden from time to time. And if they are left unattended, the condition tends to get worst. This is why many turn to chemicals to deal with alien labs disposable so that they will not grow back. Although the use of chemicals is effective in removing weeds, it can have an adverse effect on our environment. In order to prevent further damage to the environment, we have to learn the different ways to keep the weeds away in an eco-friendly manner.

There are home products you can use to create an environment not suitable for weeds. Among the most common things you can use is the table salt. Place enough amount of salt in the area where weeds grow. After that, pour warm water over the salt to melt it. Weeds will not be able to survive an area with melted salt.

You can also use weed cloth. These are available in local garden stores. Covering the area with such cloth will make it difficult for weeds too grow and develop. Although there are still weeds that manage to sprout off the cover, they are very easy to remove. There are also plastic materials that do the same thing. They are very easy to use and highly effective.

Regular monitoring and weeding is still best. Do this if you have time and then, add mulch on the soil. Enough mulch should suffocate the weeds. However, compost and similar materials may provide a good environment for weeds to grow, so you have to be careful. Monitor your garden or landscape regularly and apply a different approach if weeds develop.

There are also products available in the market that contains natural ingredients that will help deal with weeds. There are herbicides that contain corn gluten, which can fight the growth of weeds as they deal with the weed seeds and prevent them from growing. Make sure that you check the label, some use natural ingredients but that does not mean that they are all natural.

Newspapers are also great materials for removing weeds. Use them as you would a weed cloth. Cover the area where weeds normally grow with newspapers. Put several layers of newspapers on the area. If you wish to plant something, just put a hole on the newspaper and position your plant. The plants get enough sunlight, water, minerals and other requirements for them to grow. The newspaper will deprive the weeds of such necessity.

Water is also a great way to deal with weeds. All you have to do is boil the amount of water you need and pour it over the weeds that grow on the cracks of your pathways or in other areas where you do not want the weeds. Just be careful not to include your plants and vegetables. This is a great because it is safe, right after the application. Weeds are not a good sight, but you do not have to use toxic chemicals to deal with them. There are eco-friendly ways of keep them at bay.
